Dayron y el Boom

Considered as one of the most important young talents in Cuba since 2003, Dayron Nunez Nodal is a real example of perseverance and passion. Born in September 8th, 1978 and coming from a family fond of music and poetry, Dayron started his guitar, chorus and solfeo studies, since he was just seven years old. Nevertheless, since he was a kid, he also underscored for his great skills at dancing, reaching at the age of 12 years old the second place in the Annual Competition of a popular TV program named "Para que tu lo bailes" ("For You to Dance"). At the age of 13 years old, he started composing and his first song saw the light: "Recuerdame" (Remember Me), boasting great success in 2004 when it was arranged to Rock and Roll rhythm. Dayron's art and music restlessness in general made possible that at the age of 15 years old he entered the National School of Musical Spectacles where he was formed as a dancer studying also singing, solfeo, guitar, percussion and art' theory; being graduated with honours and reaching "The Best Male Performance" Award.

Being a pupil, Dayron worked with some groups such as "Chicos del Fuego" and "Chikola", where he acquired his first experiences on Cuban stages and recorded his first TV programs, some of which are "Rompiendo la Rutina", "Noche No Te Vayas" and "Contacto".

At the age of 19 years old he started his professional life as a singer, composer and choreographer in the prestigious Mayohuacán Group, having previous experiences with some other groups like Tony Cortes y su BM Expreso and the legendary Elio Revé y su Charangón Orchestra, with which he had his early national and international tours around different countries in Europe and Latin America.

After these experiences, On January 11th, 2001, Dayron decided to found his own orchestra "Dayron y el Boom" gathering recent post graduated musicians from the National School of Art, sharing the same musical ideas with him who at the average age of twenty years old were putting together their talent and wishes about giving their best on the stage.

It was exactly in 2002 when they recorded their first CD "Mi Tumbao" with the recording label"EGREM" having the musical production of the notable Cuban musician Emilio Vega. This set, which has Dayron`s authorship in almost all its tracks, boasts freshness and Cuban identity as hallmarks, approaching such diverse genres as Salsa, Cha cha cha and Pop Ballad. This CD precisely netted him participation in 2003 Cubadisco Fair, reaching a huge acceptance of the critic and an ample broadcasting in the national radio, having the first places on the Radio Hit Parades with compositions like "Chocolo", "Con lo que Hay" and "Boom Boom".

The official debut of this CD took place on October 11, 2003 at the National Theatre of Cuba`s Avellaneda Hall and it was exactly there where the public crowded the theatre and enjoyed not only the group's well-packed show but also the guest contribution of some other Cuban musicians, who -under Dayron's direction- joined the orchestra to sing some pieces from this group's repertoire; some of them are David Blanco, Israel Rojas -Buena Fe Duet' Director-, musicians from El Clan, and David Calzado and Charanga Habanera's singers. This important concert was recorded and aired for the entire country by Cuban TV gaining the critic and audience`s appraisal.

Nowadays Dayron y el Boom`s incredible performances are luxurious offers on Cuban TV programs:"A Moverse", "23 y M", "Piso 6", "Buenos Dias" and "Justo al Medio",which presentation theme was composed by Dayron, have been TV spaces contributing in a great deal to this young musician's development.

Dayron has penned some other compositions on demand with great success; we can remember, just to mention an example, the song identifying one of the most visited night clubs in Havana City by tourists and Cuban youth, Mi Habana Café.

On the other hand, on December 2003, after a contract signed with Musicalia Agency, Dayron attended Panama`s Teleton for about three thousand people, this is an internationally-recognised event aiding handicap children and people who have been victims of accidents, violence acts or illnesses and who have had some kind of temporary or permanent disability.

Dayron shared the stage with Latin music figures like Gilberto Santa Rosa and was received by Panama's public with a great success, showing all his talent. These Panama concerts were decisive for him to gain the invitation for next Teleton.

In 2004, Dayron signed to Musicalia Agency in exclusive and just this year witnessed the beginnings of a project for his follow-up discographic production, conceived as a melding of such spicy as Reggae, Pop, Rock and Roll, Merengue, Ballads and Cuban music, of course.

On April of this year, he joined the Cuban Delegation that worked for more than 45 days at the prestigious Forosol Fair in Mexico, to amaze the audience and gain everyone’s appraisal when showing a real artistic supereminence.

Strength, high-quality and an ever-evolving endurance are the hallmarks of nature at Dayron`s nature easing an intense choreographic work and distinguished scene control. Dayron belongs to a new generation of Cuban singers and song-writers beating on Cuban popular music, with only 4 years of experience in his artistic project, time enough to rule the popular musical environment in Cuba.

That's why, authenticity and professionalism are suitable words to describe Dayron y el Boom`s creation, a real show orchestra standing up the most demanding public from their sits and drawing everyone’s attention.

Dayron Nuñez Nodal nace en Ciudad de La Habana, Cuba, el 8 de septiembre de 1978.Proviene de una famila aficionada a la música y a la poesía. A los 7 años de edad comienza sus primeros estudios de guitarra, coro, solfeo. A los doce años, ganó el segundo lugar en la competencia anual de baile del popular ex-programa de la televisión "para que tu lo bailes".A los trece años compuso su primera canción "Recuérdame", que ha tenido un sorprendente éxito actualmente llevada a Rock and Roll. Finalmente a los 15 años, ingresa en la Escuela Nacional de Espectáculos Musicales (ENEM), donde se formó como bailarín y recibió estudios de canto, solfeo, piano, guitarra, percusión, y teoría de las artes, y se graduó con honores obteniendo el primer premio por la "Mejor Actuación Masculina".

Integró agrupaciones aficionadas de pop como "Chicos de Fuego" y "Chikhola "con los cuales adquirió sus primeras experiencias en los escenarios y grabó como artista sus primeros programas de televisión.

A los diecinueve años, comenzó su vida profesional como cantante, compositor y coreógrafo de la reconocida agrupación "Mayohuacán", y también, por corto tiempo, integró otras agrupaciones como "Tony Cortés y su BM Expreso" y la legendaria orquesta "Elio Revé y su Charangón", agrupaciones con las cuales realizó sus primeras giras nacionales e internacionales por Europa y América Latina.

El 11 de Enero del 2001, Dayron se decidió a formar su propia orquesta "Dayron y el Boom" compuesto por Jóvenes recién graduados de la Escuela Nacional de Arte (ENA), que compartían con el las mismas inquietudes musicales, combinando talento y juventud, con una edad promedio de veinte y dos años

Al año de creada, la agrupación "Dayron y el Boom" grabo su primer cd "Mi tumbáo", con el sello disquero EGREM, que contó con la producción musical de el reconocido músico cubano Emilio Vega. Este fonograma gozo de la autoría de Dayron, en casi la totalidad de sus temas; se destaca por su frescura y cubanía recrea múltiples géneros musicales como salsa, chachachá y balada-pop, y participó en la Feria Cubana del Disco "Cubadisco 2003"con una favorable aceptación de la crítica y una intensa difusión en la radio nacional , donde se destacan temas que han escalado los primeros lugares en el Hit Parade de la radio como "Chocoló", "Con lo que hay".

Dayron también a compuesto con éxito otros temas musicales, solicitados por encargo, como el que identifica a uno de los centros nocturnos más frecuentados por los turistas y juventud cubana: Café Cantante "Mi Habana" que todas las noches identifica el opening y cierre de esta sala bailable .

Ahora "Dayron y el Boom ", trabajan en la preparación de su segundo disco, en el cual además de salsa se fusiona otros ritmos como reggae, pop, baladas, merengue rock and roll y se ultiman los detalles para su primera gira nacional e internacional por Europa.

Sus conciertos en vivo se distinguen por un exquisito trabajo coreográfico y una excelente proyección escenica, que hacen de esta agrupación una verdadera "Orquesta show", que trasmite tanto talento y energía, que ha probado levantar de sus asientos al público mas exigente cautivando a su paso a cada espectador y haciendo de su club de fans un árbol de retoño en cada nueva plaza bailable y que organiza ya a miles de seguidores que apoyan a la orquesta en cada concierto.
