Born in Havana Cuba, Alfredo was a constant promoter of Latin Music in Sydney and the first DJ to promote salsa/timba in this part of the world. DJ AV has played in cities around the world such as Madrid, Havana and Buenos Aires.
Alfredo keeps playing top music making him one of the most popular DJ’s in Sydney.
Third place winner of the “DJ’s world championship in London in 2004”,
Competing against the best DJ’s of Europe while in London he also DJed at “Latin Splash” the largest Latin Festival of England.
In Sydney DJ AV has worked in all the hot spots such as “BJ’s night Club”, La Campana, Club Havana, Fox Studio, Club Marconi, Copacabana Restaurant, The Spanish Club, The blue Cuban Room, Spanish Harlem, Latin Flava, Bar Rumba, Kentra Bar, Port Orient and the popular Casa de la Salsa amongst an infinite number of private parties.
DJ AV has participated in all the big Festivals in Sydney such as Bondi, Bacardi and Fiesta Festival. He has also Djed in a lot of Corporate Functions such as AGL, Toyota, Dolton House Ball and others.
He was the host of the popular program “Latin Mix” 88.9 FM now in SBS Radio.
Yemaya fronted a disco/soul band in Sydney in the '80s. But a different kind of dance music took hold after a trip to Havana in '99, and she returned reborn as a timba fanatic. Dj Nandez
Nandez, a specialist in cuban music, has forever been in love with the sweet sounds of cuban music. Nandez has been dancing since he can remember, but really fell in love with cuban timba at the age of 15.
His goal, to deliver the most energetic, exciting night filled with syncopated rhythms, contagious melodies, amazing "tumbaos" and of course to ignite the dance floor!
DJ Nandez has played at several hot spots, including Watershed, The Basement, Manhattan Lounge, Retro, Bondi Icebergs and Hotel Chambers.
DJ Nandez is one of the founders of the ever increasingly popular Cuban Nights (One Night In Cuba). An idea that developed between Dj Mani and Nandez to bring back cuban music to Sydney.
